JUST WHATS BEEN GOING ON STUFF
Jul 06

We had a pretty busy holiday weekend as it turned out. Angus actually had Friday and Sunday and Monday off! So we took full advantage of it. Friday began with a trip to the hospital for test and X-rays for Angus’s upcoming appointment next Monday at Ma General. Which took way more time than it should have. The rest of the afternoon and evening was spent traveling to Maine to pick up Zoe and Aidan. The traffic was pretty heavy on the way up so we stayed for the evening until it died down a bit.
Saturday afternoon we had a cookout and went out on my mothers boyfriends boat to watch the fireworks on the river. What a great display it was. One of the best we have seen in a couple of years. It was a late late night and the kids were so tired (Aidan actually missed the end) they all actually slept in until we forced them out of bed at 9AM on Sunday! Once everyone was up and dressed we headed off on a road trip to Kennebunkport for the day. Not to much traffic until we got to Ogunquit really. I was very surprised lol. We walked around a bit and poked into a few shops and had lunch over looking the Kennebunk river. And then a scenic drive a little farther up the coast.
On the drive home Angus decided that not having a grill to cook some juicy steaks on the 4th of July weekend was just a sin, so we stopped off and got a small charcoal grill and some steaks for dinner. We did a tale gate kind of thing out in the back grass of the condo’s. My mother is one of the few people that does not have any yard area. There is a large common grassy area off the parking lot though. So the kids played tag and such while we cooked.
On Monday E cooked a big breakfast including some yummy bloodymary’s,and we all just had a relaxing morning. In the afternoon we headed off to the movies to see War of the Worlds. All in all, we all really liked it. About forty or so minutes into the movie the armrests went up and everyone kind of huddled and cuddled together lol. Including me! Not that it was real scary, just kind of kept you a little on the edge of your seat because you just didn’t know what was going to happen lol. Half way through the movie I leaned over to E and whispered in his ear, “ I just want to know how they are going to end this thing.” I just could not imagine how they would do it. Would they have it be the end of the world? Would we end up with them just controlling earth? I liked the way they ended it. It made sense. I won’t give it away lol.
After the movie we all went to Borders bookstore and browsed around a while. E wanted maps of NE so he can start planning all the day and weekend trips he wants to go on. The kids and I pre-ordered the new Harry Potter book, at 40% off! That’s the part that sold E on it lol. And then we headed home and took advantage of the charcoal grill and grilled up some big juicy hamburgers for dinner. Once again doing the tale gating thing while the kids played tag.
Yesterday E reluctantly went off to work for the day. The kids and I took a trip to the library for a couple of hours in the afternoon. If there is one thing I will say that I appreciate about NE, is the libraries. The ones in Ca just can not touch them. Though after all the time we spent there, I only left with one book out of about a dozen on my list for me. The others I had to request from other libraries in the area. But the one I did walk out with should tide me over until they come in. And I was able to find three pretty good books on day and weekend trips in NE for E that I can skim over with him.
Today is back to reality. Dry cleaning to drop off and grocery shopping to do. Ya, I have that visa card in my possession. But only for today, and I have a limit, budgeted out. So much for this, so much for that. PFFFFFFFFT! Lets see if I can get everything he has requested me to get plus the things we need. The requested things (other than the ones we do need that he asked for) are coming last. And if I can’t get them well, tuff tooties E. I think this is going to work out to my advantage in the end lol. Time to shove off and get chit done.
